What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is the practice of exploring and growing one’s spiritual life. In spiritual direction people typically seek a deeper relationship with God or may desire a richer prayer life. Some seek tools for discernment and balance in the midst of their busy lives. Spiritual direction is not therapy or religion. It is a holy conversation where one can speak freely about the mystery called God in all of life.
What happens in Spiritual Direction?
A “director” typically meets once per month with a “directee” for about an hour. The directee may bring issues for discussion or the director may ask questions pertaining to the movement of the Holy Spirit in everyday life. The director may invite moments of silence or prayer into the conversation.
